The film, showing in 4,575 theaters across the U.S., could see a decline of just 51 percent.

Blumhouse and Universal’s new horror-thriller Speak No Evil is also making waves at the box office. Coming in at No. 2, the movie is projected to exceed expectations with a $12.3 million opening from 3,375 locations on a modest $15 million budget before marketing.

The plot follows an American family spending the weekend at a luxurious British estate, only to uncover their host's dark secrets, played by James McAvoy, who is receiving praise for his performance. Speak No Evil holds an 85 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and a B+ CinemaScore from audiences.

Deadpool & Wolverine remains strong at No. 3 in its eighth weekend, bringing in an estimated $5.4 million, followed by the new documentary Am I Racist?

Starring conservative commentator Matt Walsh, Am I Racist? is set to debut with an impressive $4.5 million to $5 million from 1,517 theaters, marking the top documentary opening of 2024 and one of the largest national launches of the past decade.

Directed by Justin Folk, this “social experiment” film comes from the Daily Wire and Digital Astronaut, marking their first in-house theatrical release, distributed by SDG Releasing.

In the documentary, Walsh takes on the role of a DEI trainee, attending anti-racism workshops, crashing private intellectual dinner parties, and interviewing both experts and regular Americans on the topic of racism. One of these experts is Robin DiAngelo, author of White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism.

Am I Racist? is performing particularly well in conservative areas of the South, Midwest, and Mountain States.

The Ronald Reagan biopic Reagan, starring Dennis Quaid, is holding steady at No. 5 in its third weekend, projected to bring in $3 million from 2,450 theaters, with a domestic total of $23 million by Sunday.

The weekend’s major disappointment is Lionsgate’s action film The Killer’s Game, starring Dave Bautista as a veteran hitman who hires a contract on himself after a mistaken terminal diagnosis. The R-rated movie is expected to open in the $2.6 million to $3 million range after receiving lukewarm reviews and a B+ CinemaScore from audiences.

In limited release, the critically praised Sundance favorite My Old Ass is performing well in seven theaters in New York, Los Angeles, and Austin, Texas.

Distributed by Amazon and MGM, this coming-of-age film tells the story of an 18-year-old meeting her older self. Aubrey Plaza and newcomer Maisy Stella star in Megan Park’s second directorial feature.

Weekend box office numbers will be updated on Sunday.
