The streaming giant secured the project, Thumblite, after winning a bidding war, giving it a straight-to-series order. Set at the heart of the tech industry, the show comes from The Morning Show and Pachinko producer Media Res, with Scott Z. Burns (The Report, Apple TV+’s Extrapolations) as the creator.

Scott Galloway, NYU marketing professor and podcaster, is onboard as an executive producer. Rosamund Pike (The Wheel of Time, Saltburn) will star and also serve as an executive producer.

Netflix has described Thumblite as “a corporate thriller set in Silicon Valley, exploring the rivalries, schemes, visions, and obsessions of power brokers and their subordinates as they compete for control of the world's most powerful industry.”

Pike’s character details remain under wraps for now. The series is among a few projects centered around Silicon Valley, with CBS also working on Cupertino, a legal drama from Evil and The Good Fight creators Robert and Michelle King.

Burns will act as showrunner for the series, with writing credits that include The Informant!, Contagion, and The Laundromat. He has also directed episodes of The Loudest Voice and Californication, along with his work on Extrapolations, Apple's climate change anthology.

This series marks Galloway’s first venture into scripted television, having co-hosted the Pivot podcast with tech journalist Kara Swisher and written a book about tech giants Apple, Amazon, Facebook, and Google.

Executive producers include Burns, Galloway, Pike, Greg Jacobs, and Michael Ellenberg, along with Lindsey Springer for Media Res.

Pike is represented by CAA, United Agents in the U.K., Magnolia Entertainment, and Prosper PR. Burns is repped by UTA and Jackoway Austen.
